after school barbell club

 

Portage area students 8th through 12th are invited to register for an after-school barbell club at our gym, were you can train with Greg, a professional Strength & Conditioning Coach.  Learn how to properly perform main barbell lifts such as the low-bar squat, press and bench press, deadlift and power clean.  You will also learn how to program your training week, track your progress, the ins and outs of recovery between sessions, nutrition and more.  Increases in strength are immediately transferred to any sport or activity in which you participate, and vastly improve self confidence. Barbell Club is Beneficial for Both Boys and Girls!

Barbell Training is Beneficial for Girls and Boys

Although strength training is often thought of as a male activity, this couldn’t be farther from the truth. Girls enjoy all the same positive benefits from barbell training as boys do, and it is equally important for their physical and emotional development. And no, this training does not make girls look “bulky”!!  Although for boys, eating the appropriate amount of food will result in more mass.

The Barbell Club will meet every M,W,F from 3:30 – 4:45

Every rep will be coached with corrections provided in real time, until the lifter displays mastery of the technique.

Each lifter will have spotters and receive encouragement from the coach and other students.

Perfect after school program during the long winter/spring months between sports!

Fee is $60 per month (12 sessions) with no long term commitments. (that’s only $5 per session!)
